If you hold any degrees, what are they in and from what schools?
I am a double graduate of the University of Montevallo with a bachelor’s in interdisciplinary studies concentrating in Human Relations and Management and a master’s in couples and family counseling.

How long have you worked here?
It will be 10 years in March 2025.

Did you hold any previous positions here? If so, what are they?
I am the advisor for two student organizations: Best Buddies and the National Society of Leadership & Success.

What brought you to Montevallo?
I came to UM after graduating high school in 2006, but left a few years later to enter the workforce due to personal reasons. After years of employment with another company, I embarked on a new endeavor and applied here. I have remained in the same position and same department since I was hired.

What’s the best thing about working for Montevallo?
UM is a place filled with individuals who inspire you, support you and who, over time, become family.

Do you have any interesting stories about one of your favorite experiences here?
During my first year here, I attended a staff appreciation event where employees were recognized for years of service. I remember saying a little prayer asking for the chance to serve UM for years too.

What’s your proudest accomplishment since being at UM?
When I walked across the stage. I never saw myself obtaining a college degree; here I am, having done so twice. It’s an honor and I am grateful to UM for the opportunity.

Are you currently working on or have you recently completed any interesting projects?
I am completing my requirements for full licensure in hopes to create opportunities that serve college students. My sole focus will be addressing the importance of their mental health and overall success.

Why do you belong at Montevallo?
The University has been instrumental in helping me develop as a person; UM created a space for me to professionally grow and further my education. From professors to certain colleagues who continued to pour into me, I have never felt alone during my years here. Since graduating from high school being given the chance to finish where I started, UM will always be near and dear to my heart.

Anything else you want to say?
I love the opportunity to serve current and future students.
