Dr. Terry Roberson Graduate Honors Scholarship

The intent of the Dr. Terry Roberson Graduate Honors Scholarship is to support outstanding graduates of four-year institutions of higher education who are seeking a graduate degree. To be considered, a master’s degree candidate must have a minimum undergraduate grade point average of 3.5 on a 4.0 scale and an educational specialist candidate must have a minimum graduate grade point average of 3.8 on a 4.0 scale. The Office of Graduate Studies will verify GPAs by an official transcript. Candidates should also provide three letters of recommendation discussing their potential for success in graduate study. If the scholarship applicant is currently applying for the program, any letters of recommendation from their admission application can be used to support their scholarship application. Candidates will also meet at least one additional application criteria as determined by the program (i.e. writing sample, MAT/GRE score, etc.). Please see below for a listing of the additional criteria by graduate program. All candidates must meet these minimum requirements, but each department/college may determine additional criteria for recipients..

Final selections will be made by the department/college. Qualified students will should follow the application procedures outlined by each program. All applications for the Graduate Honors Scholarship will be reviewed by a selection committee. The program/college will inform the Scholarship office of the award decision. The notification of award will be sent according to the guidelines outlined in the Scholarship Handbook. Scholarship applications should be received by the department/college by a due date specified by each department/college.

If you have been previously awarded the scholarship, and are re-applying, you should only provide one letter of recommendation from a current professor, as well as a brief personal narrative about what they have learned in their program and their academic performance. The re-application statement should not exceed 2 pages in length (double-spaced).

Speech Language Pathology M.S.

Candidates meeting all general scholarship criteria (listed above) will be considered automatically during the admissions process. The information provided in the application materials submitted on CSDCAS will be used to determine eligibility and selection for this scholarship. The candidates awarded this scholarship will be notified at the time of acceptance into the M.S. SLP program.

Candidates should submit the application on CEHD’s Scholarship page and the meet all general scholarship criteria (listed above), including the CEHD’s criteria for scholarships awarded for superior academic performance. See the CEHD’s Scholarship page for more information. New CEHD applicants should submit the scholarship application and attach the criteria listed below.

  • Alternative Master’s in Education (P-12, K-6, & 6-12)—Please submit your resume and your TEP interview and Praxis test scores will be reviewed from your online application (We will pull your interview & your Praxis score. Please email only your resume.)
  • Applied Instruction Masters — Please submit your resume and a personal statement about your academic performance and why you believe you should be awarded the Honor’s scholarship. The personal statement should not exceed 2 pages in length (double-spaced).
  • Counseling Masters—Please submit your resume and your essay from your admission application.
  • Exercise Science Masters—Please email your resume and your personal statement from your admission application.
  • Instructional Leadership Ed.S.—Please submit your resume and a personal statement about your academic performance and why you believe you should be awarded the Honor’s scholarship. The personal statement should not exceed 2 pages in length (double-spaced).
  • Instructional Leadership Masters/RHO—Please email your resume and your Leadership Platform and Program Expectations from your admission application.
  • Instructional Technology Ed.S.—Please submit your resume and your Statement of Purpose from your admission application.
  • Professional Educator Masters—Please submit your resume and a personal statement about your academic performance and why you believe you should be awarded the Honor’s scholarship. The personal statement should not exceed 2 pages in length (double-spaced).
  • Teacher Leadership Ed.S.—Please submit your resume and your Evidence of Collaborative Leadership Potential from your admission application.
